School profile and situation of professional development

How would you describe your school?

Small, Familiar, Multicultural, wide range of students, Urban.

What local/national/international networks is your school a part of?

All levels: School Networks in collaborative projects, Regional and National because of its values, International, Erasmus+ Skype and eTwinning.

Probably one of the drawbacks is that this wide view is known by few teachers, because they think on their scope.

How is professional development organised in your country, locality, school?

There are a lot of online options to learn:

• On site: regional government, FERE, Macmillan, School Learning Plan
• Blended: CIFE
• Online: INTEF, MOOCs, NOOCs, EduPills

What role does the head teacher play with school staff professional development?

Informer, Encourager, and should be guide and facilitator of the training, and topic possibilities.

Does professional development happen inside or outside of school?

My point of view is that normally outside from the school options and timetable, few teachers look for training.

Others point of view vary from 100% happens outside, and a mean of 80% happens outside.

Can you estimate a percentage of teachers at your school who participate in online professional development?

My resultant information varies from 2-20% in my school, but there are other communities and cases that could arrive to 90%.

How feasible do you think it will be to introduce TA courses as part of professional development in your school?

Preferred onsite, dependind on time and if it is inside school hours, and barriers with Digital and language competence. Courses in English will be a hard problem to follow.

Can you estimate a percentage of teachers at your school who participate in MOOCs?

My point of view sometimes differs from the rest, but Many teachers do not know what is a MOOC.

Then, my gathered values varies from 0-15%

Is there a Mentoring scheme available in your school?

Not as an Scheme. There is a 2 weeks mentoring for new teachers, and lots of mentoring for University Students, but not as an action plan.
